Senate House Lights Up for Pancreatic Cancer

20th November 2019
Senate House Windows Purple Lights

Supporting World Pancreatic Cancer Day

This November at Senate House we are taking part in Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month by illuminating our main building in purple lights.

The purple lights campaign is an initiative which aims to raise awareness of the disease and this year’s campaign is taking place on Thursday the 21st of November which is also World Pancreatic Cancer Day. Across the globe purple is being recognised in association with pancreatic cancer and to show our support the iconic art deco Senate House building will be lit up in purple.

In doing so, University of London has joined organisations across the globe working together to raise awareness and inspire action as part of the 'light up' campaign. In the heart of central London with a significant daily footfall we hope to draw greater attention to a disease with survival rates lower than 7% and highlight the need for funding and research for one of the world's deadliest cancers.

Get involved via our social channels where we will be sharing our efforts across Twitter and Facebook. For more information on pancreatic cancer or to participate in the campaign, visit

Senate House is a leading events venue in the heart of London, offering beautifully appointed meeting and conference rooms steeped in history.
