Christopher Stocks, Head of Conferencing & Events.

Managing the UoL Venues conference and events team is Chris. A key decision maker at the university, Chris has helped evolve the UoL Venues brand to the success it is today with a track record of success at other universities in the academic venue sector. A fan of terrible jokes, he oversees the work of team while making sure we have a fun environment to work in.  

Steve Harwood, Buildings Manager. 

Steve is a big fan of music, which is handy when you manage a gig venue. He also manages our dynamic meeting rooms, Olympic size pool and Energybase gym all at Student Central. His postive attitude and approachable nature keep our staff motivated and customer focussed for a seamless event experience.  

Jessica Riach, Marketing Manager. 

As Marketing Manager, Jess looks after the UoL Venues brand as well as all things digital. From our website to our social media channels, we communicate with our community daily and maintain a strong online presence. She works closely with the sales team to deliver a cohesive marketing strategy and is always working on new creative ideas. She also leads on creative projects with clients such as our large-scale projections at Senate House. 

Zeeshan Rana, Conference and Events Sales Manager.

Zee is our sales team manager and brings with him in depth experience of sales and event operations. He appreciates the architecture of Senate House and loves how versatile it is as a venue. While he is passionate about our flagship venue, there is nothing he is more passionate about than football. You'll find him most weekends watching his beloved team Man United. 

He works closely with clients; organizing site viewings, answering queries, confirming capacities, availability and facilities – whatever you need! His friendly, helpful attitude will ensure that you get the right package for your event or conference at one of our venues.

Sheila Paul, Conference and Events Operations Manager.

Once your booking is confirmed, Sheila gets to work liaising with our operational teams and the relevant partners and suppliers to ensure that everything is organised for your event. With 20 years’ experience and a professional can-do attitude, Sheila ensures that everything runs smoothly, without stress or hassle!

Joaquin Fernandez, Catering General Manager.

Joaquin is our catering general manager here at UoL Venues. He loves the timeless elegance of Senate House and the freedom he has to be creative when building bespoke catering for our guests. He joined the team in 2019 but has already made some exciting changes. Joaquin works closely with our clients to ensure that every aspect of their event catering service is perfect, including tailor-made catering solutions for large exhibitions or bespoke private functions.

When Joaquins not busy front-of-house, you'll find him on the basketball court with friends. 

Daniel Trace, Executive Chef.

Dan has over thirty years’ experience in the restaurant industry, specialising in fine dining. He is passionate about food and believes in using the finest fresh ingredients, sourced locally to produce modern British cuisine, with innovative menus that showcase great taste through simple, balanced dishes. His second passion is photography, which comes in handy when you produce amazing plates of food.
